Nicanor, a 3 year old full brother to 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, is training at Palm Meadows and expected to debut his racing career this weekend at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale.
The colt is entered in Saturday's eighth race (Jan 31st): a Maiden Special Weight going one mile on the dirt. Alternatively, if scratched Saturday, trainer Michael Matz is considering a race on the turf course the following weekend. Nicanor will be ridden by Edgar Prado.
